🕯️Imbolc is the first holiday in the wheel of the year, a holy folk tradition centered around the gradual return of the light from the dark of winter, occurring halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox. Imbolc is traditionally celebrated with red or white candles which represent the returning light, the candle flame in the dark, and the renewal of the self which will be reborn with Mother Earth. This piece was created to be a tangible reminder that the darkness must end, that joy and hope and renewal are nature's gifts to us in the cycle of life, that out of the darkness of difficulty, of symbolic death, and of the underworld comes transformation, reconnection, and clarity of vision. This piece is a symbol of hope. 🕯️
